Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers

The end of another term has arrived. It has been a very successful term, with many good things happening around student learning and achievement. It seems like a world ago but the easing of restrictions this term has been very welcomed. It has been so nice to see parents at school for Parent Teacher Interviews, afternoon pick up and some assemblies as well as having excursions/camps going ahead. Term 2 has allowed us to get back to some sense of normality.

I would like to thank the staff of the school for their constant and unwavering support of the students and their well-being. The staff have worked tirelessly this term, often with extra students in classes or forgoing release times to ensure the smooth operation of the school. I hope they have a great break and find some time to get back into energy credit.

We successfully held 430 interviews from Monday to Wednesday this week which supported the reports that were released on Compass last week. If you have not had an interview I encourage you to contact to your classroom teacher to look at an alternative arrangement.

Fete 2022

The Fete committee had their first meeting last night and unfortunately, we have not secured enough community support to run the fete this year. The short turnaround has not left any wriggle room and we have had to cancel the fete for this year.

Our committee has looked at other fundraising opportunities that we can do as a school for the remainder of the year to support big-ticket items such as our new playgrounds and other projects in the school. Stay tuned for notification of these early next term.

Pyjama Day Tomorrow

With the Fete cancellation, we have pivoted the planned Fete Crazy Hair Day tomorrow to support our Vinnies Winter Appeal by allowing students to wear pyjamas to school. If you are in a position to please bring along an item from the pantry (can of soup, a packet of pasta etc) to help support those in our community less fortunate than ourselves. Please see the Compass push send out via Compass by Mrs Thomas today.

Next Term – Reminders

A reminder that the first day back for students next term is Tuesday, July 19. Staff will be participating in a Professional Development at Merici on the Monday. BASCA will be in operation for those who require care on this day.

Wishing you a safe and happy holiday break.

Blessings and best wishes.
