From the Principal

Dear Families

This week a number of our Year Six students have participated in one of the four masses where they received the Sacrament of Confirmation. 24 students received the Sacrament on Tuesday night, 1 on Wednesday with 1 remaining student receiving the Gift of the Spirit tonight.

Through Confirmation, we believe that we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Like the apostles in the time after Jesus rose from the dead at the first Easter, we too are in need of the support and guidance of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and the Holy Spirit brings us the gifts of Wisdom – Understanding - Right Judgement – Courage – Knowledge – Reverence, and Wonder and are in awe in God’s presence. No wonder it’s a special day in their lives.

A big thank you to Ms Lisa Conroy (REC), the Year Six teachers Miss Andrea Gatt, Mr Matt Smith and Mrs Michelle Marshall, our Parish Priests Fr James and Fr Tony Percy (Vicar General), who presided over the reception of the Sacrament

Mrs Wendy Hodgson

We were advised last week that Wendy Hodgson, Office Manager of the Early Learning Centre at Holy Family Primary School, suffered a mild stroke followed by a brain haemorrhage. Wendy went to her eternal rest on Tuesday evening.  We keep Wendy, her husband Peter, and extended family in our thoughts and prayers. Wendy has worked as Office Manager at the ELC at Holy Family since 2012.

We also hold the Holy Family community in prayer at this time.

Eternal rest grant to Wendy, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.’

Thank You

I had the good fortune of spending the last 2 weeks in Hawaii, having a relaxing holiday and spending quality time with my family. The weather was beautiful and warm, however, it was a real shock to the system coming back to the freezing cold.

A big thank you to Mrs Tiffany Reedy who took over the reins whilst I was away. I really appreciate Tiffany’s hard-work and professionalism.

Year 5 Camp

Next week, our Year 5 students will be in Sydney attending their Year 5 camp. The teachers have been working extremely hard to get this camp organised and create an enjoyable and educational experience for all.  During their time away, they will visit Mrs Macquarie’s chair, The Chinese Gardens and enjoy a trip to the zoo.

They will leave school bright and early next Wednesday morning ready for their exciting explorations. We look forward to hearing about their wonderful adventures when they return home. You can follow them and see all the exciting things that they are doing on our Facebook page.

Peace and Best Wishes
