St Francis of Assisi Primary School is streamlining our website, newsletter and communications with one provider.

Our new website was launched last year, and our new-look parent memo and newsletter is commencing this week.  The newsletter will be available on our school website http://stfranciscalwell.schoolzineplus.com/latest and a link will be sent to you to access the newsletter each week. 

We will be introducing the SZApp app as a way of communicating with parents.  Please follow these instructions to download the new app to your phone and set up notifications http://www.schoolzine.com/szapp-installation 

SZApp will replace the SkoolBag app and SkoolBag will not be used after the end of this term.  In the meantime we will continue to send notifications through both SZApp and SkoolBag.

We thank you for your cooperation and ask that you download the new app as soon as possible!

A reminder that Sacrament Online Registrations will be closing at midnight on Monday 4 March 2019.  For any queries relating to the Sacraments please contact Lisa-marie Russell in the parish office tuggeranong.sacraments@cg.org.au 

Lauren Macdonald (Literacy Coordinator) will be running a training session at 10:20am on Monday 4 March for anyone wanting to help during reading groups.

A reminder that we are hosting a Cyber Safety Presentation at 6.00pm on Monday in the school library.

The whole school will be celebrating Ash Wednesday Mass in the school hall at 9.30am on Wednesday 6 March.  Parents are warmly invited to attend.

My name is Susan Harris.  This year I’ll be taking on the School Chaplaincy role.  I’ve previously worked in the social welfare field specialising in children and young people with disability and trauma background, this has included substantial pastoral care experience. 

As part of my role I’ll be running social skills and peer support groups. 

These groups will assist students to build self-confidence, learn about their emotions and develop skills in peer and other relationships.  I am planning on facilitating small group discussions, team building and relaxation strategies.  I am working with classroom teachers to ensure that this does not overlap with literacy and numeracy lessons.  The purpose of the program is to contribute to improving student engagement and connectedness within the school community.  All programs are voluntary and parents can choose if they do not want their child / children to be involved.

I’m available to meet with students, families and staff and support you in whatever way I can.  I am available on Mondays (9 – 3:00) and Tuesdays (10:15 – 3:00).

A reminder that school photo day is coming up on Friday 8 March 2019.  All students should come to school in full summer uniform.  No sports uniform on this day.

If your birthday is on Friday 8 March we ask that you also wear full summer uniform on photo day, and you can wear your plain clothes on another day of your choosing, 

Individual order forms were sent home with all students last week.  Please order directly through MSP.  Spare envelopes and sibling photo order forms are available for collection at the front office.

A reminder to please return all permission and volunteer notes for our annual swimming carnival coming up on Friday 15 March 2019 at Queanbeyan Pool.  We need lots of volunteers to help the day run smoothly - please consider helping out on what is always a fun day!

Enrolments are now open for Net Set Go at Tuggeranong Netball Association. 

School banking is every Wednesday.  Please bring bank books in on Wednesday and they will be returned by Thursday of the same week.

A reminder that school fee statements for Term 1 were issued in Week 2 and fees are due for payment by Friday 22 March 2019 unless you are paying by regular instalments.  For any school fee related queries, please contact Susan Rowell in the office on 6292 4500 or email susan.rowell@cg.catholic.edu.au from Tuesday to Friday.

BASCA accounts for Weeks 1 and 2 Term 1 are due this Friday 1 March. Please make every effort to finalise your January Vacation Care accounts, as they are now overdue. If you have any concerns, please email Pam in the BASCA office by emailing Pamela.Villatobas@cg.catholic.edu.au.
