Next Thursday 3rd August will be the inaugural Corpus Christi Cup between the three primary schools in our Parish. I have met with numeracy coordinators Belinda Breen (SCA) and Emma Young (HF) to organise a maths competition between some of our year 5 students. These students nominated their interest and are excited to represent our school. This day will provide an opportunity for those competent and keen mathematicians to apply their knowledge and problem-solving skills in a challenging way against the other schools.
We hope this initiative will provide greater opportunities for the Primary Schools in the Corpus Christi Parish to come together and engage as one community and most importantly a new experience that will hopefully challenge and enrich our students.
If successful, The plan is to run this competition every term with a different activity/subject area and a different grade involved each time. The running of the Corpus Christi Cup helps kickstart working towards part of our strategic plan – namely the goal of building strong connections between ELC, school, and the wider school communities (e.g., SCA, HF, MMC).
We wish all students luck as they take on this challenge.
