Boorowa Touch and Netball Carnival - Tomorrow!
Tomorrow, Friday 25 October, 130 students will represent St Francis of Assisi at the Boorowa Touch and Netball Carnival.
We have supported this carnival for many years and it’s always a great day. It not only supports two small schools in the bush, but gives our students an opportunity to play against other schools in a setting very different to our own.
Students are required to wear correct sports uniform – which includes their St Francis of Assisi School hat.
We wish our teams all the best tomorrow and look forward to hearing reports of how they went.
A big thank you to Miss Kate Foley and Miss Sam Ryan for coordinating this event and to the many parents who are volunteering their time to coach, manage and support our teams.
A reminder that for those travelling on the bus, the bus will be departing school at 6.15am sharp. Please arrive early for an on time departure. The estimated arrival time back at school will be 5.30pm and updates to this time will be posted on the school's Facebook page.
After a solid year of toiling away on some of the most difficult Maths problems ever created we are finally finished!
Our Maths Olympiad team (pictured) have had great fun stretching their brains to answer the challenges set by the Australasian Maths Olympiad and as the year has gone on they've learned more and more about how to manage really demanding questions. As well as building new knowledge and skills they've also learned that more than anything PERSEVERANCE is an absolute must for success. After all, quitters never win and winners never quit!
Special mention must go to the following students :
Equal 3rd - Jonathan Price and Jade Paterson
Equal 2nd - Sean Chifley, Alex Meany, Nathan Salvage, Chloe Smith
1st Place - Ava Bond
All of these students scored in the Top 40% of competitors in Australasia which is an outstanding achievement. Well done Olympians!
