Parent Teacher Interviews Week 5
As part of our strategic plan to improve communication with parents we will trial a new initiative in Term One. In Week 5 we will be offering parents the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher. The aim is to assist teachers to find out as much as they can about your child and to work with you in setting educational goals for your child’s year at school.
The meeting will be for 10 minutes only. If you feel that you need extra time, please speak to your child’s teacher and arrange another time. If your child is on a Personalised Plan, this will be a great opportunity to update the plan and set future goals.
Please note that these meetings are not for the teacher to talk about how your child is progressing, but rather for you to give vital information to the teacher about your child’s successes and challenges and what you hope they will accomplish in the 2020 school year.

As these are shorter time slots than our usual 3-way conferences, the teachers will only be available on Monday 2nd March and Tuesday 3rd March. If you have already met with your child’s teacher this year and you feel they understand your child’s needs for the year, there is no need for a further appointment.
Chief Ministers Reading Challenge 2020
The Chief Ministers Challenge is on again for another year. The challenge (CMRC) is an annual event to promote reading.
As a cross-sectoral event all schools in the ACT are encouraged to register students to participate. All students at St Francis have been registered and will receive a sheet on Monday.
Scholastic raffle prizes will be held for children completing the challenge. Children can write down e-books, readers, books read at school and at home, and books read to them.
So lets get reading 30 books!
