Welcome to the Parent Memo for Term 3 Week 2.

A reminder to all families who have been offered a place for their child for Kindergarten in 2021, signed acceptances and Parent Commitment Agreements must be returned to us tomorrow, Friday 31 July 2020.  Please email all paperwork to office.stfranciscalwell@cg.catholic.edu.au or give us a call on 6292 4500 with any queries.

Over the last couple of weeks, numbers at weekend Masses have been edging towards an unsafe level. It is a government and archdiocesan requirement that no more than 100 people can be in attendance at Mass during this time of COVID-19.

As a result, we have decided to reintroduce a booking system. It will be available on Eventbrite (which we used for our Trivia Night in 2018). There is no cost but there are limited spaces. You can access Eventbrite at this link: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/o/corpus-christi-parish-gowrie-17757154026  or through our website. To book, click on the Mass you want to attend and select the number of tickets. Each person requires a ticket including children and babies. Provide the name/s of everyone attending and a contact number or email (one per family is fine).

If you are rostered as Acolyte/Senior Server, Altar Server, Reader, DPO, Eucharistic Minister or Collector you will automatically be allocated a ticket by the Parish Office. However, if you have family or friends who will be attending with you, they will need to book a ticket. The exception to this will be Altar Servers. The Parish Office will allocate one ticket for a parent to attend with their child. If more family members wish to attend you will need to book tickets for them.

Masses for this weekend are available now until Friday 4pm. When you arrive for Mass on the weekend, printed register sheets will be available in the foyer. Please tick off your name and ensure a contact number or email is recorded.

Due to Covid-19 the only sacrament to be celebrated in 2020 will now be CONFIRMATION for Year 6 students who are Catholic.

St Francis of Assisi Confirmation Celebrations will be held on Thursday 24 September at either 5:30pm or 7.00pm. 

Parents are to enrol their child for the sacrament, through the Corpus Christi Parish QKR! and you will be allocated to one of the two masses on 24 September.

Parents will attend the Parent Formation Night on Thursday 20 August at 6:30-7:30pm and students will participate in a Retreat Day on Wednesday 9 September.

Enrolments close on Friday 31 July 2020.

This term we are launching the St Vincent de Paul Society St Francis of Assisi Winter Food Appeal. Vinnies makes a real difference to the lives of people in our community, many of whom are especially needy at this time during the pandemic. St Francis of Assisi Primary supports our local Calwell Conference by donating food items to the Winter Appeal. Thank you in anticipation of many donations!

Please send in food items such as cans of soup, fish, fruit and vegetables, packets of pasta and noodles, long life milk, spreads such as jams, vegemite etc. to place in the classroom boxes.

A reminder that orders for the current issue of the Scholastic Book Club are due this Friday 31 July 2020.

A reminder to all families and students that from 1 August 2020 all students will be required to wear a hat for outside play.

Please ensure that your child's hat is clearly labelled with their name so that any lost hats can be returned quickly and easily.

If you need a new hat, they can be purchased from the front office for $15.00 per hat.
