Father's Day - Call for Photos
Father's day is just around the corner! We are unable to have our father's day breakfast this year so we would like to celebrate our fathers, grandfathers and special people in our lives by putting together a photo montage that we will put on our Facebook page next week.
We ask that each family sends in one photo of their children with their dad, step-dad, grandfather or other special person. Please email your photos to Mrs Markcrow kate.markcrow@cg.catholic.edu.au or the front office office.stfranciscalwell@cg.catholic.edu.au by next Wednesday 2 September.
Vinnies Winter Appeal - last days to donate!
A huge thank you to all our families for the food donations brought to school for the Vinnies Winter Appeal. It's not too late to bring in any last minute donations - all items will be collected on Tuesday next week to go to local homes in need.
Term 3 fee statements were emailed earlier this term. If you did not receive your fee statement, or would like to update your email address, please send me a message to susan.rowell@cg.catholic.edu.au and I will send you a new statement or update your account.
A reminder that swimming levies have been credited to all families and will not be charged in Term 3 and Term 4 since the swimming program will not be going ahead this year.
If you are paying your school fees by instalments, please double check your statement to ensure your instalments are enough to pay the fees in full by the end of the school year. This is especially important for families who are leaving us at the end of the year!
If you have any school fee related queries please give me a call or send me an email, I am in the office from Tuesday to Friday each week.
Kind regards
Susan Rowell
Due to an increase in the price of hats from our supplier, we will now be selling school hats for $20.00 each at the front office.
This is the same price as Savvy but with the added convenience of having the hats available at the office. Payment may be made by cash, QKR or EFTPOS.
The latest Scholastic Book Club issue was sent home with students last week.
The preferred payment method is online, but cash will be accepted at the front office.
Please place all orders no later than Friday 4 September 2020.
We also still have an unclaimed item from the previous issue - please give us a call if you think this belongs to you.
Book Week has been rescheduled to Term 4 from Monday 19 to Friday 23 October 2020.
Further information about book week activities and the book week parade will be communicated closer to the time.
School Photo Day - Monday 19 October 2020
Our rescheduled School Photo Day will be held on Monday 19 October (Monday of Week 2).
Photo envelopes for each student have been sent home today. Online ordering is the preferred payment method using the unique 'shoot key' assigned to each child.
Spare envelopes are available in the front office if required. Spare envelopes do not have a shoot key - any parent requiring a shoot key for their child will have to call MSP on 6255 9208 or email canberra.office@msp.comm.au to obtain the shoot key (for example separated families needing extra envelopes or misplaced envelopes).
Sibiling envelopes are available at the front office if required. A discount applies to families with three or more children. After purchasing individual packs for each child, a sibilings presentation pack of your choice will be free. Only children who present a siblings order form to the photographer on photo day will have their family/sibilings photo taken.
All children are to wear full summer uniform for photo day - no sports uniform on this day please!
Daffodil Day is tomorrow, Friday 28 August 2020, and raises funds for the Cancer Council.
Radio station Mix 106.3 made a special delivery of daffodils to the school yesterday.
Targeted Kindergarten Health Checks
Attention: parents of Kindergarten students

Stranger Danger Information from ACT Policing
This is a reminder to help our children understand the importance of stranger safety and the need to report any unusual incidents or approaches to staff immediately.
If you become aware of an incident or notice anyone acting suspiciously around a school or child, contact police immediately on 131 444. In the case of an emergency, call 000. If you witness an incident or if you have any information that could assist police, you can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can be provided anonymously.
Please support us to keep our children safe by having conversations with your child about moving safely around the community and what to do if they ever feel unsafe. You may wish to visit the Australian Federal Police website that contains child safety information. In addition, Safety4Kids is a non-government website that has useful information and links. The Constable Kenny website also has a number of child safety tips for parents.
Catholic Education will continue to work with ACT Policing on issues of child safety.
