St Francis of Assisi Netball 2021

Welcome to the 2021 season of netball.

This year netball will be open to both girls and boys in years 1 – 6.

The year 1 players will play in the year 2 competition (as there is no year 1 competition) following the modified rules of NETSETGO. All the games are played locally at the Calwell netball courts and training is held at the school courts after school on days that suit the team coach.

Registration Fees for 2021 are $150 for NETSETGO (Years 1 - 3) and $160 for juniors (Year 4 - 6). Each player will need to fill out and return to the front office a SFA personal details form:

Payment and registration can only be made via my netball website no later than Monday 29 March 2021.  Register and pay for your child online by one of links below:

Year 1 – 4:

Year 5 & 6:

Each team will require a coach and team manager before the start of round 1 (1/5/2021). Please consider volunteering for these roles as it can be a very rewarding experience.

TNA have rostered the Junior Rep players to umpire year 4, 5 and 6 games. Year 1, 2 and 3 teams will need to supply their own umpire at a small cost per player, I can help organise umpires if needed.

Each team will be rostered on throughout the season to run the BBQ, canteen or convenors office. These are all very easy jobs and can be shared amongst the team.

If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact me on 0432 778 267 or email on

Dear Families,

We understand there are some uncertainties with how to use Wushka. Your child would have received their homework reading logs with their Wushka login attached. Please use these credentials to log in to the Wushka website.

We ask that each student reads two Wushka books a week. You will read the same two books multiple times over the course of the week. You will find the books in the decodable library. Please begin with Phase 1: Set 1 and progress through as each book is read. You can either read to your child or get your child to read to you. It is important to ensure children are receiving a combination of both, so they are continuously exposed to being read to as well as reading to someone else. Please note the Phase 1 books are a starting point for students to decode which letter makes which sound. Make sure you log each book you read in your homework reading log. If you are confident your child is reading at a higher level, feel free to move up to the next few phases and again please log these books in the reading log.

We strongly encourage you to keep reading to your children each night with any picture books you may have at home. Reading to your children and asking them questions about what happened in the book, not only develops their comprehension skills but increases their interest and engagement in reading. These books can be logged on the Chief Minister’s Reading Challenge page which was placed loosely inside your child’s homework booklets.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email your teacher.

Thank you!

Kinder Homework

Dear Families,

Yesterday, students came home with their homework reading logs. We apologise these didn’t come home on Friday, we had two of our Kinder teachers away on sick leave.

To allow time to catch up, please return these back to school on Thursday 11th March. From then on, homework booklets will be sent home on a Friday and returned the following Thursday.

Please see the front page of instructions to outline the homework process. Please also find the online reading Wushka login attached. You will also find a loose page for the Chief Ministers Reading Challenge. We strongly encourage you to keep record of all the books you and your child are reading together. You can record books read at home and from Wushka.

News journals have also been sent home and will start next week. The news topics have been glued on the first page of your child’s book along with their allocated news day.
