Lifeguard for Swimming Carnival

Our school swimming carnival is coming up on Monday 24 February at the Queanbeyan Pool.

If you are qualified to be our designated lifeguard for the day (you must possess current Bronze Medallion and CPR qualifications) and would be willing to help out, please contact the front office on 6292 4500 or email

Parent Information Night - Monday 17 February

Dear Families,

Our annual Parent Information Night and Comminty BBQ will be held on Monday 17 February 2020.

Please see the attached note for further information.


We ask that you RSVP to the BBQ to assist with catering.  You can do this by returning the the slip attached to the note to the front office, or send an email to with the following information:

  • Family Name
  • Eldest Child
  • Eldest Child Class
  • Number of Sausages Required

Tokens will be issued to families to be redeemed on the night and families with tokens will be served first.  Please RSVP by Friday 14 February.

Stormbirds - Catholicare

Dear Families,


Catholicare has offered to run a 4 week group counselling session (Stormbirds) for children in the school who have been affected by the recent bushfires.


Stormbirds provides an opportunity for children and young people who have experienced a natural disaster to share their experiences of change and loss in safe and creative ways, understand and attend to their feelings, and learn skills for adapting and recovering. This takes place in an atmosphere of like-to-like peer support.

Session 1:            Change a natural part of life

Session 2:            Feelings and responses

Session 3:            Memories and support

Session 4:            Reconnecting


If you would like your child included in this program, please email me directly your child’s name, DOB and address by COB Wednesday 12 February (tomorrow). I will then be able to enrol your child and pass on any relevant information.


We envisage that this program would begin on Monday next week.

Pickers Name Signs

Dear Families,

If your family requires a name sign for your car for the afternoon 'pickers' arrangement, please email the front office with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Eldest student name
  • Eldest student class
  • Number of signs required

Lamintated signs will be prepared and sent home with your child.

A reminder that all students who are being picked up from school will proceed to the hall at 3.05pm.  If you are collecting your child from the hall, please park in the car park and proceed to the hall before 3.20pm.

If not collected by 3.20pm students will proceeed to the 'pickers' line at the front of the school at which time you may 'drive through' to collect your child.  Please display your name sign clearly on the passenger side visor.

Any students not collected by 3.30pm will be taken to BASCA and charged accordingly.

Many thanks for your support of our afternoon pickup arrangements.

Yr 6 Camp Postponed

Dear Families,

We have been informed the Year 6 camp has been postponed due to bad weather/flooding.  When a date has been confirmed we will notify families.  We understand this is very disapointing for the students but their safety is always our first priority.

SPICE Playgroup - starts Monday

Dear Families,

A reminder that our SPICE Playgroup commences for 2020 this coming Monday 10 February in the BASCA Room at 9.30am.

All children aged birth to pre-school are welcome.

School Banking 2020

Dear Families,

In yesterday's newsletter it was reported that School Banking for 2020 would be on a Thursday each week.

It is in fact on a Wednesday each week - please ensure bank books are brought to school on a Wednesday and they will be returned to students by Thursday after they have been processed.
